Enjoying the outdoor sun is a natural activity with beautiful summer. Many of us love the water just like some dogs love the water. Even dog breed that don't normally enjoy getting wet will enjoy a swim if they are encouraged or don't want to miss the fun!

However, joy can turn to tragedy if simple precautions are not taken to ensure the safety of your pets.

“Pets are curious by nature,” said Dr. Steve Hansen, a board-certified veterinary toxicologist and senior vice president of The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). Hansen, whose department also includes the ASPCA’s Animal Poison Control Center, asks pet parents to be mindful of their pets this holiday season.

The exercise not always is seen like diversion (at least by the humans). Some people would prefer not to do anything of horrible word “E”. It throws a look to your enthusiastic dog however, and thinks what amused would be to take a long walk by the block with him, or perhaps to play little with Frisbee (only you and your dog).
Your doctor surely has said to you that you make exercise. But, what there is of your faithful friend. Need an exercise regime also? Admit it; you two could take advantage of a very reducing long walk. There are not many people who can watch themselves at the mirror (or the face of the doctor) and not admit that perhaps, single perhaps, they could support losing some kilos.

Sensory ataxic neuropathy (SAN) is a recently identified neurological disorder in Golden Retriever dogs with onset during puppyhood. Affected dogs move in an uncoordinated manner and have sensory deficits. Researchers in Sweden have now revealed that SAN is caused by a mutation in mitochondrial DNA.

You might watch your daily calorie intake or glance over nutritional information on food packages, but do you do the same for your pet?

Dr. Susan Nelson, a veterinarian and assistant professor of clinical sciences at Kansas State University, said there are several guidelines to follow when feeding your pet to ensure that it maintains good health.

Here’s some great news for all of us who can’t bear the thought of parting one day from our furry ones.

According to this story in the New York Daily News (apparently re-purposed from MSNBC), the average pet is living as long as 15.
